Whether you're applying in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, or any other state, having the complete list of documents needed for RTE admission is crucial to avoid rejection.

This article provides a statewise-compatible list of required documents and explains the purpose of each, so you can prepare in advance and ensure a successful application.


There is confusion about what documents are needed for the RTE Admission.


RTE Documents




( All the  valid Documents should be Scan and kept  with you while Applying for the online Registration because you have to upload the Scan documents to the website.  )


So here are the List of Documents needed for RTE Admission.

1. Child’s Birth Certificate

  • Purpose: Confirms the age eligibility for admission.

  •  Must match the age criteria defined by your state’s RTE GR.

2. Address Proof / Domicile Certificate

3. Income Certificate

  • Purpose: Verifies the family's annual income and eligibility under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category.

  •  Must be issued within the last 12 months by a competent government authority (Tehsildar or SDM).

4. Caste Certificate (If applicable)

  • Purpose: Required for children from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), or Other Backward Classes (OBC) under the Disadvantaged Group (DG) category.

5. Disability Certificate (If applicable)

  • Purpose: For children with special needs applying under the “Children with Disabilities” quota.

  •  Issued by a certified government hospital or board.

6. Parent’s ID Proof

  • Purpose: Establishes parental identity and relationship to the child.

  •  Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, etc.

7. Recent Passport-Sized Photograph

  • Purpose: Required for the RTE application form and school records.

  •  Usually 2–4 copies needed.

8. Aadhar Card of Child (if available)

  • Not mandatory in all states but often preferred for smoother verification and tracking.

Basic to Avoid Document Rejection

✔️ Scan all the documents in clear PDF or JPEG format.
✔️ Ensure same information across all documents (Eg, Name, Age, D.O.B, Address etc.)
✔️ while uploading  Documents Avoid uploading blurry, expired, or damaged documents.
✔️ Double-check age and income limits etc. while applying.

Hum pehle kisi aur ward me rehte the Hamare sare document usi ward ke bane huai he lekin hum abhi rent pe dusre ward me aa gaye humne waha ka 8 month pehle ka agreement bana rakha he usi ke tahat humne RTE me aawedan kiya he mere bacche ka sar padampat singaniya school me 5 no. Pe naam he lekin school me muj se kha gaya ki kraya naama nhi chlega ya fir saare document isi Adress ke hone chaiyye jaha aap abhi rah rahe ho ab aap Hi bataye me kya karu jabki mere adhar card me wahi ka pata he jha me abhi rah raha hu but itni jaldi me sare document kese change krawau
